The Mind of an Engineer ∞ The Heart of a Mother ∞ The Hands of a Healer
After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering I spent 11 years working for General Electric (GE). I became an expert at analyzing large amounts of information and data and turning it into something useful.
In my late 30s I had three children and was able to stay home with them for 9 years. They helped me deepen my interpersonal skills including compassion, patience, and the ability to truly listen.
When I became sick in 2007 I turned my analytical skills and listening abilities inward and found out how complicated the body and healing can be. I saw that Western (‘Modern’) Medicine had a lot of data but it didn’t describe enough of what was going on inside me to heal me. (See my Blog for more details). I found that Ancient and Alternative Medicine not only better described what was happening inside me but provided many more ways to heal me.
I returned to school to immerse myself in one of the most well known ancient medicines – Chinese Medicine. The Chinese Medicine curriculum not only trains your mind to analyze the patient, but can also train your body to hear the patient and train your hands to be a tool to help heal them. How is this possible? Via the Energy aspect of ancient medicine.
With the education and training I have now I believe I could have made myself better in 6 months (instead of 6 years). I have dedicated my life to helping others heal by Energy (rather than physical) means. I would love to put my skills to work for you.
Energy Medicine Education:
Below are descriptions of the different types of Energy Medicine I have studied and used to help people.
Applied Kinesiology – Combines muscle-organ associations, acupuncture meridians, and muscle testing to restore physical and energy health.
Bing Chong Mi Qi Gong – A comprehensive form of Medical Qi Gong with a lineage that dates back to 705 BCE. Qi Gong is translated as “energy work” and in this case is focused on balancing the energy of others to help them heal. Energy systems in this lineage include Chakras, Meridians, Aura layers and other subtle body energies.
Chinese Medicine – Four year medical degree, (MSOM). I studied acupuncture, energy channels, and Chinese herbs. I applied this knowledge in the school clinics to help over 250 patients with a wide range of issues including depression, back pain, menopause, digestive issues, migraines, cancer, emotional imbalances, and more.
Flower Essences – A thousand year old tradition that was brought into the modern era by Dr. Bach in the 1930s. Flower essences provide subtle but amazingly complex healing for the energy body and the physical body.
Homeopathic Medicine – Homeopathy has been used for over 200 years and is based on the principal that ‘like cures like’. Homeopathics offer excellent support for the physical body while it is healing.
Medical Intuitive – I discovered that I have a natural ability to feel energy imbalances in others. These imbalances are usually so pronounced they are causing the person physical pain or discomfort. I am also able to intuit how to improve and/or correct the energy imbalance. Once the energy issue is corrected the person can usually feel an immediate change in their physical sensation at the affected area.
Ortho-bionomy – Uses gentle movements applied by the practitioner, both on and off the body, to ‘remind’ the body how to be in physical and energy balance.
Psychic Intuitive – Classes in Alignment, Boundaries, and Clairvoyance from Lotus Latern with Liliana Barzola Read. I learned helpful energy tools and tips that I have used and continue to pass on to others.
Reiki – Usui Shiki Ryoho and Usui Tibetan Reiki Lineages from Japan. A form of energy healing through light stationary contact on the body.
Shoni Shin -Japanese pediatric form of non-needle energy healing techniques. Can be used on adults or children.
Sotai – Chinese form of gentle body movements combined with breath work to correct energy imbalances.
Yin Tuina -A Chinese form of micro-movements used to facilitate energy balancing within the body.
